Kutan was introduced in 2005 to serve as the mascot for Narita International Airport. He is a hero-in-training at Narita International Airport. His facial features are covered by an oversized scarf, goggles, and an aviation hat. No one has ever seen his real appearance. Unlike other mascots that only attend events, Kutan can often be seen interacting with young travelers at the airport. A Little Hero Corner was even set up within the airport to attract young fans of Kutan.
