The Rocky Mountains serve as a physical border dividing bustling city life with endless desert. Located in the Mojave Desert of South Central California, Adelanto was a city of baseball. The High Desert Mavericks is the Minor League Baseball team that played its home games in Adelanto between 1991 and 2016. The team once set a Cal League record of attracting more than 200,000 fans in a single season. The Adelanto Stadium has since become home to the High Desert Elite FC of the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL).
