Choshi City is located adjacent to the expansive watershed of the Tone River and the Pacific Ocean, making it one of Japan's leading hubs for seafood production. Consequently, Choshi Fishing Port boasts the highest annual yield in Japan. In commemoration of the friendly city partnership between Taoyuan City and Choshi City, Choshi City specifically chose the auspicious symbol of a sea bream to create a fishing flag. It serves to celebrate the alliance between the two cities and the hope for lasting friendship.
