Baseball fans may know that the goal of high school baseball team is to compete in and win the National High School Baseball Championship. The competition has been held every year in spring and summer for over 90 years, and it is one of the main objectives of the Chiba High School Baseball Federation. Taoyuan houses the Taoyuan International Baseball Stadium, the home grounds of the Rakuten Monkeys. This commemorative baseball was a gift from the Chiba High School Baseball Federation to Taoyuan City and symbolizes the collective efforts of the two entities in the promotion of baseball.
