This folding fan is inscribed with a phrase penned by former Korean President Park Chung-hee: “내一生祖國과民族을為하여,” meaning “My life is dedicated to my nation and people.” President Park served from 1963 to 1979 and played a key role in Korea’s modernization and economic development. He remains one of the country’s most influential political figures. His daughter, Park Geun-hye, later became South Korea’s first female president.
