The Japanese love their sake and are demanding of their drinkware. There are countless minute details in the containers used to serve Japanese sake. The creator of the stainless steel cups in the picture is not only an expert glass-blower but also a master of maki-e. The patterns decorating the sides of the cups were made using natural pigments. It is also worth noting that the transparent cups are embellished with gold foil that creates flickers of golden light as sake fills the cups, greatly adding to the bourgeois atmosphere.
