Situated on the Mexican Gulf, Florida is surrounded by waters that are home to several species of dolphins, the most common of which is the bottlenose dolphin. The famous rescue dolphin, Winter, can be seen in the Clearwater Marine Aquarium in Florida. Winter's tail was amputated after being entangled in a fishing net. With the collective effort of many people, Winter was fitted with a prosthetic tail. The story was so inspirational that it was adapted into a movie in 2011.
