Taoyuan and Kagawa officially became friendship cities in 2016. The two cities have been in frequent exchange ever since. Before the pandemic, the city women's softball teams would play friendly games every year. There was even a cook-off between Hakka silver needle noodles and Sanuki udon! Moreover, the two cities work closely to improve tourism and agriculture. The tie in the picture was a gift from Mr. Moriyasu Kamada, Chairman of the Tourism Council of Representatives, Kagawa Prefectural Assembly, during one of his delegations to Taiwan.
