Happi can still be seen in popular Japanese culture. The Beatles wore happis branded by Japan Airlines when they disembarked from the aircraft during their first visit to Japan, attracting the attention of music fans around the world. In the early days, happis were used in ceremonies. Today, it is often worn by staff in business events. The appearance of happis is similar to that of haoris. The main differences are that haoris have wider sleeves, and the placket of happis are generally distinguished from the rest of the garment using different colors or materials.
