Chiba Lotte Marines is a truly oceanic baseball team. The team's spring training camp starts well before the NPB season on Ishigaki Island in Okinawa. Its home stadium, the Chiba Marine Stadium, overlooks the beach. CPBL players Chen Wei-Yin and Chen Kuan-Yu both previously played for the team. Mayor Cheng Wen-tsan even personally visited this stadium and sought advice from the team's executive to transform the Rakuten Taoyuan Baseball Stadium into a famous stadium like the Chiba Marine Stadium and elevate the Rakuten Monkeys into a symbol of Taoyuan, much like what the Chiba Lotte Marines symbolizes for Chiba.
