The latte stone is a defining feature of ancient Chamorro architecture and a symbol of social status and authority. In traditional villages, these stone pillars served as the foundation supports for homes. The Chamorro people also made extensive use of the coconut tree—often referred to as the “tree of life”—for weaving and construction, demonstrating their resourcefulness. Standing like silent guardians, the latte stones continue to bear witness to the enduring heritage and legacy of the island.
