Hesse is located in the center of Germany. Inside state boundaries are financial hub Frankfurt, rolling hills, continuous vineyards, and spa towns for healing the body and mind. The Rhine River flows through the southern part of Hesse. The coat of arms of Hesse has a standing lion whose body is made up of nine silver and red stripes. This necktie has stripes in the same colors. On one corner is an embroidered lion. Hesse’s coat of arms was previously used by the state of Thuringia, showing that Hesse was once ruled by Thuringia.
