A World in One Place — Touring City Landmarks in Taoyuan

Wherever we go, we leave our footprints behind—exploring every corner of a city’s iconic sights.

Preface

In today’s travel culture, “check-in” moments have become an essential part of every journey. Visitors often feel that no trip is complete without photographing themselves alongside a city’s most recognizable landmarks and sharing the moment online. This themed exhibition begins with the idea of collecting celebrated landmarks from cities around the world in a single space. Through creative and distinctive presentations, it invites visitors to discover how different countries choose to represent their most iconic sites.

Los Angeles Cityscape Coasters

Across all hours of the day, the city of Los Angeles unfolds through this set of coasters. From Hollywood bathed in afternoon sunlight, to the city’s silhouette at dusk, and finally to the glittering night view seen from Griffith Observatory, the four designs capture the rhythm of Los Angeles across the seasons, tracing its transformation from bright daylight to a star-filled sky.
Lightweight and easy to carry, these coasters are convenient to store and use. When a mug rests on the cityscape, the aroma of coffee seems infused with California sunshine and starlight. Each sip becomes a romantic moment, inviting memories of travel to surface once more.

Brno City Landmarks Magnet

The magnet set presents four iconic landmarks of Brno.
Top left: Špilberk Castle, built in the 13th century, is a site rich in dramatic history. Once an administrative center and later a prison, it now serves as a cultural venue.
Bottom left: Villa Tugendhat, designed by a renowned architect of its time, stands as a classic reference point of Brno’s architectural and spatial aesthetics.
Top right: The Cathedral of Saint Peter and Paul rises prominently atop a hill, unmistakable among the city’s dense urban landscape.
Bottom right: The Old Town Hall, notable for the twisted column sculpture on its main façade. Legend has it that when a stonemason was not fully paid for his work, he deliberately distorted the sculpture in anger, leaving behind this striking architectural detail.

The Geumosan area in South Korea was designated a provincial park in 1970 and is renowned for its dramatic rock formations and steep cliffs. The scenic area features a cable car and provides access to Daehye Falls at the mountain’s base. This set of compact and charming hand mirrors allows visitors to choose their preferred scene. The upper left depicts a panoramic view from Geumosan overlooking the surrounding landscape. The upper right commemorates Gil Jae, a revered scholar-official of the late Goryeo period who resigned from high office in adherence to his principles and returned to Geumosan to establish a private academy. The lower left shows a pavilion built in Ham-an County in honor of Gil Jae’s integrity and moral steadfastness. At the center is the Geumosan cable car, opened in 1974, while the lower right features a five-story stone pagoda dating back to the Goryeo dynasty.

Hand-Painted Lidded Beer Stein

Germany is inseparable from its beer culture. Beer is not only a national symbol but also deeply woven into everyday life. Each October, Germany hosts the annual Munich Oktoberfest, where participants raise their mugs, toast, and share in celebration. The traditional German beer stein, with its handle and hinged lid, is designed not only for practicality but also as a vessel of social ritual. This handcrafted, hand-painted stein features relief depictions of historic and cultural landmarks, including the statue of Frederick the Great in Berlin, Marienplatz, the equestrian statue of King Ludwig, and streetscapes of traditional old-town residences. Through its detailed ornamentation, the stein embodies Germany’s rich historical heritage and festive spirit.
